24 Hours in A&E Episode 3 - Keep the Faith
The third of 24 Hours in A&E – which was filmed at the Queen’s Medical Centre- airs tonight on Channel 4 at 9pm.
The series, which was produced by The Garden TV, was filmed for 47 days straight in autumn 2021 in the hospital’s Emergency Department and tells stories of life, love and loss.
It is the first time the award-wining documentary has been filmed outside of London.
This episode: 18-year-old, Kye is rushed into Queen’s Medical Centre after suffering a cardiac arrest during a football training session. Consultant, Craig and the team in resus face a race against time to restart his heart before it is too late. Kye’s mum, Lorenda reveals how football was so important to Kye growing up and how he dreamt of a career in the game.
Also seen in resus is 30-year-old, Tom. He was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a head on road traffic collision. While medics investigate the extent of his severe ankle injury, Tom’s Dad, Trevor reveals Tom’s own journey from childhood to parenthood.
In the minor injuries department 23-year-old, Phoebe is with boyfriend Matt. The student tripped in a library, damaging her nose. While staff investigate the extent of her facial injury, Phoebe and Matt reveal how their relationship unexpectedly blossomed from friendship into love.
A total of 24 episodes were filmed for the new series and the first batch of episodes will run every Tuesday for eight weeks on Channel 4 at 9pm.
